Deeply committed to the philosophy and practise of Design Thinking and its application to solving real life issues. Actively consulting about this topic and evangelising its application in business for competitive differentiation and for social impact since 2015. Teaching at management and engineering institutes across India and South Asia.

After a 26 year career, took early retirement in 2015from NIIT Technologies Limited. Last served as Senior Vice President – Head of Strategic Initiatives, Consulting and Advisory Services. Other significant positions include Chief Innovation Officer, Head of e-Business Consulting, Global Head of Retail Practice, and Head of Quality.

Graduated as a mechanical engineer from Delhi University in 1981 and joined Unilever in India (then Hindustan Lever Limited), designing and building high-speed packaging and processing machines for in-house use applying principles of human centred design and engineering. This was followed by a brief entrepreneurial venture from 1988 to 1989.
