Today, more than ever before, the business community is increasingly focusing on the development sector and social inclusion. This makes it essential for any business leader to fully understand and appreciate the ground realities of the development sector. Without the full involvement of the future leaders, this development will remain one-sided, insufficient and incomplete. With this intent, With this intent, SOIL has incorporated the Social Innovation Program into its curriculum as an integral course.
The Social Innovation Program at SOIL is a unique intervention where all the students work with an NGO, which they care about, once a week for a considerable duration of their post-Graduate Program. SOIL has partnered with more than 30 NGOs across the Delhi NCR region who in turn collaborate with our students to find meaningful projects where SOIL students can develop novel ‘solutions’ to deep-rooted social, cultural, economic and environmental problems.
The social innovation program kicks off with an NGO fair where all the partner NGO present our students about their work, their impact and available projects. After the presentations, students choose their desired NGO to work with on a first come first serve basis.
All our NGO partners visit SOIL at the start of the academic calendar to share the NGO’s Vision, their impact and areas for possible help. Students usually analyse and match their interest areas to help the NGOs during this event. The event generally happens over 2 days.

“Leaders are those who have the power to listen to others. As a part of project assistant in NGO, I got the amazing task to hear the stories of abandoned people and help them in reuniting with their families. I received a call one fine day (26th Dec 2018) from an unknown number, I picked it up and a soothing voice which was full of blessings said “Dr Aanchal”, Main Ghar Pahunch Gayi (I have reached home)!!! I was overwhelmed.”
