I have more than 28 years of experience comprising 10 years in the Manufacturing & Services Sectors in premier organizations like United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) & Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and 17 years in Academics in Lucknow University, ICFAI Business School (IBS) Hyderabad & Gurgaon as a Faculty of Marketing.

I have a Ph.D in Marketing from Banasthali University and a MBA from Lucknow University.

At ICFAI Business School Gurgaon, apart from my responsibilities as a Faculty of Marketing, I was the Dean Academics, from April 2017 – 2019 & Associate Dean Examinations from 2014 – 2017.

Awarded the "Best Teacher Award" for “Overall Excellence” for the year 2014-15. A consistently excellent Faculty Feedback Rating of 8 to 8.5 on a scale of 10 for the past 14 years

Professional Experience

A. IndiaHQ Solutions Pvt. Ltd. NOIDA. May 2000 – April 2002

The company builds Print & Online City Specific Yellow Pages for the South Asians in USA. I commenced operations with 2 sites that grew to 13 sites by the end of March 2002 covering major cities across US and Canada.

  • Devised the look and feel of sites in co-ordination with our Seattle team
  • Build content for various Yellow Pages categories and channels
  • Writing contemporary articles for our websites.

B. UNIDO – TBIIP Focal Point at NISIET, Hyderabad. May 2000 – April 2002

Ministry of Industry, in collaboration with, UNIDO and UN – APCTT formed a Technology Bureau for International Industrial Partnerships (TBIIP). As a consultant the job involved –

  • Making project documents for assistance from UNDP, ILO etc. Preparing brochures and background papers for correspondence with Government.
  • Co-ordination with our Head quarters in New Delhi and other administrative support in organizing seminars and workshops

C. United Nations Industrial Development Organization, New Delhi. August 1996 – June 1999

UNIDO implemented an Italian assisted Cluster Development Program in four clusters in India viz. Hand block printing in Jaipur, Woolen Hosiery in Ludhiana, Food Products in Pune and Cotton Hosiery in Tirupur.

  • Writing articles, summaries & documentation of cluster experiences in India and disseminating it.
  • Co-edited a book on “Developing Small Scale Sector – Need for a Broader Vision” for the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, New Delhi.
  • Collection and analysis of primary data to update the list of SME clusters from 138 to 350.

D. Confederation of Indian Industry – CII, Ahmedabad. August 1995 – June 1996

CII is an apex industry association, with over 5,000 members. It interacts with the industry, government, diplomatic missions and its agencies to build a progressive industrial climate.

  • Co-ordination and interaction amongst panels comprising members drawn from industry and government, dealing with critical areas like Energy, Environment, and Exports.
  • Organizing seminars / workshops to educate industry on latest innovations and organizing focused exhibitions.
  • Organized several meetings of industrialists & government officials’ viz. Frank Wisner – US Ambassador to India, visit of a British Environment Industry Delegation and visit of a Congressional delegation of the U S Senate.
  • Provided support in organizing a Energy Exhibition – ‘Conserve’ in Dec 1995

E. Unichem Laboratories Ltd. Mumbai. April 1988 – July 1990

  • Responsible for material planning and coordination on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis in conjunction with the Marketing, Production, Quality Control and Materials departments.
  • Successfully developed and implemented a material planning and control system that helped reduce material stock-outs at the production floor.

F. Pradeshik Co-operative Dairy Federation Ltd. (PCDF) Lucknow.

July 1986 – March 1988

PCDF was a constituent of “Operation Flood” run by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). The Procurement and Inputs (P&I) wing was responsible for planning, regulating and co-ordinating milk procurement to all its plants and giving requisite inputs to enhance production and supply to overcome the seasonality factor.
