Shashank Vira is an entrepreneur, educator, and investment manager, with 25 years of experience in academics, education policy & management, commercial business operations and infrastructure financing. Shashank is a Director of the Hearth Advisors Limited, an entrepreneurial, research and consulting business that works internationally in the Education & Skills, Medical, Incubation of Technology and Innovative Start-up segments. The Hearth is based between Europe and Asia, with offices in London and New Delhi.

He has led private equity investments, established and run education institutions, worked on education policy, developed public-private partnership models and established technology-in-education businesses. He has been closely associated with curriculum reform and pedagogical innovations at the high school and undergraduate university levels in India and the UK. He has advised MHRD (Govt. of India), the Commonwealth of Learning, UCLES & CIE, the World Bank, ILO and IFC (W). He is on the board of several leading schools and universities.

Shashank received his M. Phil. from the University of Cambridge. He has also done graduate work in Physics at Brown University and holds an Honours degree (Bachelor of Science) in Physics from St. Stephen’s College at the University of Delhi, as well as professional teaching qualifications.
