The SOIL’s MBA admissions process aims at identifying students with the right attitude that aligns with SOIL’s value system, and who have the ability and willingness to explore their leadership potential. Our one year MBA -PGPM unique selection process is crafted in such a manner that it helps us assess the holistic personality of a candidate. We focus on multiple intelligence and try to assess the attitude along with the competence levels of a student.

Profile Based Evaluation Method

At Soil, we focus on a Profile-based admission process and not an exam based one. We understand that the traditional method of selecting students based on academic & test scores does not give a clear view of the overall achievements. The following parameters account during a SOIL evaluation round

Capacity to Think

The ability of the candidate to think and to generate ideas.

Capacity to Learn

The ability of the candidate becoming efficient in a new subject. Generally seen in candidate’s academics

Capacity for Action

Ability to put the ideas into practice. Extracurriculars help showcase past actions.

Capacity to Relate

Ability to empathize with all the stakeholders without any biases.

Capacity to Communicate

Ability to convey one’s idea and thoughts most simply.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the one year MBA – PGPM program, a student must fulfil the following criteria.

A Completed Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised institution with at least 50% in graduation.
Greater than 60% in 10th & 12th Standard Examinations
Minimum 2 years of Prior Work Experience is required.
Valid CAT*/NMAT/GMAT/XAT/SNAP accepted.

The following exam scores are acceptable for admissions to the 1 Year PGPM Program. These scores are not mandatory, however, they add extra weight to the application

Application Cycles

SOIL follows a multiple cycle model to accept maximum applications for the program and to arrive at a better shortlisting of students for a quality PGPM program batch. The cycle dates given below are subjected to change based on the admission committee’s decision.

SOIL Admissions Process

The following steps are mandatory for all candidates applying to the SOIL One Year MBA – PGPM program.

1 Submit an Online Application

Our SOIL One Year MBA – PGPM application process requires you to fill in an online application form by your chosen application deadline. You will be required to provide the admissions committee with the following:

Details of academic background
An extensive account of your work experience
MBA Exam Scores / Opt for SAT Score
Upload Document Proofs

Please be aware that our institution does not endorse or participate in any application fee coupon distribution scheme. The application fee is to be paid in full. We urge all applicants to refrain from using any unauthorized coupons.

2 Appear for GEPI Process

The GEPI process evaluates candidates’ leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through group exercises and personal interviews. This multi-phase assessment provides a comprehensive view of each applicant’s capabilities and program fit.

Group Exercise: The group exercise challenges candidates to tackle real-world problems using Design Thinking principles and methodologies. This collaborative session allows applicants to:

Apply user-centric approaches to complex issues
Demonstrate empathy, ideation, and prototyping skills
Showcase their ability to iterate and refine solutions quickly

SOIL Leadership Assessment: This is a psychometric assessment that helps us understand your leadership dimensions and personality traits. The test requires no prior preparation from the candidate’s side and will identify the following attributes: Leadership Potential, Managing relationships, Reasoning and ideation, Networking Potential, and Self-Leadership Potential.

Personal Interview: Interviews with short-listed candidates will be conducted by a faculty member and a senior member of the industry. Interviews last about 45 minutes and you will be asked questions about your background, your aspirations, and how the PGPM program fits with your plans.

3 Take SOIL Aptitude Test (SAT) (If applicable)

The SOIL Aptitude Test (SAT) is a mandatory assessment for applicants who haven’t submitted other recognized entrance exam scores (CAT, XAT, NMAT, etc.). While also open to those with existing scores looking to improve their admission chances, this test is crucial for completing the SOIL admissions process.

Duration of the test is 60 minutes.
The test is designed to assess aptitude without extensive preparation.
Test results are required to complete the admission process.
The exam can be taken before or after the GEPI process but must be completed for admission consideration.

The test will evaluate students in the following areas:

Aptitude Assessment
Data Interpretation
Verbal Ability
Critical Thinking

4 Admission Decision

Final decisions will be emailed to all candidates within four weeks of taking the interview. After your interview, there are three possible outcomes:

You are made an offer to join the program.
You are asked to appear for a personal interview for the second time.
You are not successful at securing a place this year.

5 Registration

Once you are made an offer to join the PGPM program, you will be required to secure your place by paying the first installment of the course fee – INR Two Lacs within 10 days of receiving the offer. The Admissions team will guide you through this process.
