  • How I Earned INR 1,64,000 While Growing My Skills in College

College is about more than just lectures and assignments. For me, it became a place to dive into real-world opportunities, grow my skills, and, surprisingly, earn INR 1,64,000 along the way! From projects and internships to competitions, every experience has left its mark on me both professionally and personally. Here’s the breakdown of how it all came together and the lessons I learned along the way.

Starting Strong: My First Live Project – INR 75,000

My first live project came with a paycheck of INR 75,000. It felt like a big win, but more importantly, it turned out to be a big lesson in skill enhancement and time management. Working on this project taught me to manage time efficiently and tackle tight deadlines. Meeting those expectations wasn’t just a requirement; it was a skill I needed to develop and would carry forward into future projects. This experience also helped me build a habit of taking deadlines seriously, which has become second nature in every project since.

    A Quick Win: INR 2,000 for a Week-Long Project

Next, I took on a short-term live project that paid INR 2,000. Although it didn’t take long to complete (just a few hours), it was packed with value. This project taught me the importance of teamwork, as I needed to stay available and involved for my team to succeed. I also got a chance to get creative with strategies, which was refreshing and fun! Sometimes, even the smallest projects can teach you a lot when you approach them with the right mindset.

Internship Exposure: INR 40,000 for Professional Growth

Internships are where theoretical knowledge meets real-world application, and this one was no exception. During this internship, which paid INR 40,000, I gained a lot of personal and professional insights. I was exposed to new skills and got a feel for how businesses function. Balancing my contributions to the team with my personal growth was key, and the whole experience prepared me for the fast-paced corporate environments I aim to join someday.

    Competition Win – INR 2,000

Deciding to participate in a competition added another INR 2,000 to my earnings. This competition wasn’t just about winning; it was a big boost to my confidence. Knowing that I had the skills to succeed pushed me to keep aiming higher. It also taught me that taking risks, even small ones, can be rewarding. This experience reminded me that a little motivation can go a long way, and that extra bit of effort often pays off in ways you don’t expect.

Another Live Project for INR 45,000

My next live project brought in INR 45,000 and allowed me to dig even deeper into the corporate world. This project gave me a chance to apply my skills in a more complex setting, letting me explore new facets of the business landscape. Each task was a new opportunity to learn, and I was able to expand my skill set in ways that will serve me well in the future. Projects like this not only added to my portfolio but also gave me a realistic sense of what it’s like to work in the corporate world.

Reflecting on My Roles: Presenter, Leader, Team Member, and More

Looking back, I realize it’s not just the projects or internships that shaped my college journey. Every role I took on—whether as a presenter, leader, team member, student, senior, or friend—has helped me grow. Each experience taught me something unique, from leadership and teamwork to creativity and adaptability. These roles gave me the confidence and skills needed to excel in new projects and opened doors to even bigger opportunities.

Networking and Seizing Opportunities: The Secret Sauce

Another key to my journey was networking. I connected with numerous industry professionals on platforms like LinkedIn, expanding my network and tapping into the corporate world through those connections. Taking each college opportunity seriously, whether it was a live project or a quick gig, helped me build my portfolio and enhance my image. Giving 100% to each project opened doors to even more opportunities. The combination of networking, putting myself out there, and maintaining a strong work ethic has truly shaped my college journey.

Building Skills and Earning Alongside in College

For anyone still in college, here’s my advice: get involved in things that interest you, pick up skills that help build a better version of yourself, and don’t shy away from opportunities. Each experience is a stepping stone that can contribute to your personal and professional growth. And let’s not forget, the extra cash you earn along the way can be a fun bonus for a well-deserved celebration!
