I Grew Into A New Role After Pursuing This One-Year MBA In HR

The early 2000s witnessed a paradigm shift as employers started mandating degrees for jobs that previously didn’t necessitate them, despite the nature of the jobs remaining unchanged. This trend, called "degree inflation" intensified significantly after the Great Recession of 2008-2009. Following this economic downturn, leaders across government, business, and community-based organizations acknowledged the need for a reset.

The Skill Disruption Index

To meet the challenge, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) analyzed millions of job advertisements that were posted and created the Skill Disruption Index. which yielded a comprehensive list of occupations. They detected an acceleration in the pace of change. Nearly three-quarters of jobs changed more from 2019 through 2021 (a CAGR of 22%) than they did from 2016 through 2018 (19%).

BCG attributed this increase to the pandemic, which forced businesses to rethink operations and people in all kinds of occupations to embrace new ways of working and new skills. I pursued psychology honors from Delhi University, and possess a certification in Organizational Development And Change In Leadership from TISS Mumbai. Before joining SOIL, I was working as a consultant in the Banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) industry. My reason for joining SOIL was to upskill, get a holistic transformation, explore different verticals of Human Resource Management, and become a future-fit leader. It has been a great journey at the SOIL Institute of Management. Due to the innovative pedagogy, I obtained different skill sets that have helped me to land my current role. The CMS team at the B-school also went out of their way to support me and help me achieve whatever I did. I recently got placed with HONO.AI as a functional techno Functional consultant. I will be dealing with the clients regarding their expectations of the product.
