  • Industry Approved! – SOBD Aligns With The Skills Expected In GenZ Leaders

In response to our technologically advancing society, there is a dire need for education to undergo innovation to produce proficient professionals for the industry. Creative problem-solving skills are pivotal for addressing societal and professional needs, fortifying the national economy, and resolving global challenges.

Effective collaboration with industries would allow educational institutions to ensure that students engage with cutting-edge technologies and acquire practical experience. Simultaneously, companies reap significant benefits from the valuable input and fresh perspectives that students contribute.

Harvey Mudd College revolutionized STEM education with its pioneering Clinic Program, the inaugural engineering initiative that partnered student teams with industry. Following this model, a team of four or five students collaborated with a faculty advisor for a full academic year, addressing a business challenge faced by the company. Results encompassed prototype development, new manufacturing processes, crucial code delivery, and innovative data analysis methods. Widely emulated, Harvey Mudd’s Clinic Program inspired similar capstone programs at institutions such as Stanford, Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, Texas A&M, and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. All computer science and engineering majors at Harvey Mudd engaged in a full year of Clinic, while students in other disciplines had elective Clinic options.

Are there institutes in India that have incorporated industry-relevant curriculums?

SOIL’s PGDM in Business Design & Innovation Is Industry Approved!

Aligns with the skills expected in GenZ leaders.

    Take a look at what

The Industry Leaders Have To Say About SOIL’s PGDM!

I think the idea of starting a school that is focused on business is an excellent idea. It fills the gap that has existed for a long in the Indian Management education scenario..
    ~ Santosh Desai
    MD & CEO, Futurebrands

Management education is designed to create leaders. The leaders that people would look up to, seek answers from, who are expected to achieve and help businesses achieve success if these leaders are not prepared to handle the future that is uncertain, ambiguous, un-understandable, and complex, and I think we have left something on the table..
    ~ Vijay Ghei
Senior Vice President, NIIT Technologies Limited

As a student of business myself, from IIM Ahmedabad 40 years ago, and a keen observer of business education in my role as a faculty, I find SOIL School Of Business Design a refreshing breath of fresh air..
    ~ Prasad Subramaniam
CORE FACULTY, Brand management & strategy, School of Business Design

There are not too many schools that focus on Design Thinking right in the B-school curriculum. The MBA curriculum that SOIL has, is a multi-disciplinary approach including all the liberal arts which will help students encompass the entire concept of Design Thinking right at the MBA stage. I think this would go a long way in creating professionals who can keep the customer in mind while designing products and services..
    ~ Kinjal Choudhary
Senior Vice President & Vice CHRO, Eicher

Nowadays, the industry and business are undergoing sweeping changes, exponential changes at a very rapid pace driven by technological disruptions, AI and automation, business change models, etc..
    ~ B. Muthuraman
    Former Vice President, Tata Steel

The School Of Business Design’s curriculum has been designed in consultation with a huge number of industry experts and people knowledgeable of the changes happening in the industry, so that the students that go through the SSOBD program, get a flavor and an ambiance, to develop all these functional competencies..
    ~ Vijay Ghei
Senior Vice President, NIIT Technologies Limited

If you look at the rapidly emerging world of automation, AI, and so on, it is liberal arts that are going to save human beings from being outdated, and bringing the idea of liberal arts into a very practical field like management is an excellent idea. This actually renews the management curriculum, the management cadre that comes out of it, and the business all around the world as well making it more successful, as well as sustainable..
    ~ R. Anand
Principal Consultant & Advisor – HR | HCL

Students coming into this program will find themselves equipped with the kind of skills that most management education does not train you for, so I think it is truly a welcome idea!.
    ~ Santosh Desai
    MD & CEO, Futurebrands

The foundational understanding that we want to give the students, is the understanding of human beings, so whatever they specialize in, or the job they take up, they will have a more holistic understanding of what they are dealing with and what they are creating. It does not matter what function they get transferred to as they go along their career, their contribution will be one of designing a business that will have the largest human impact. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters. Did you touch a life? Did you make a difference to somebody? If somebody remembers you because of the difference you made, who needs marketing? They will sell for you! And that’s a premise that we are working on.
That’s the School Of Business Design!!

    B. Muthuraman

    Former Vice President, Tata Steel
