So the decision is made. The transition in the question from ‘Why MBA?’ to ‘Which college for MBA?’ has arrived, but you’re still muddled about which university to pursue your MBA from. It’s a big question as you will be spending a lot of money as your admission fee and it better be a reputed institution. The college should be good with a wide range of executive MBA courses that provides internships and training to students. Following are 5 qualities to look for in a business school –

    • Internationally- renowned faculty

One of the reasons for enrolling for an MBA degree is to gain knowledge about the field and that should be driven by a distinguished faculty. They assist in building a real-time perspective of global business and teach the latest paradigm shifts in innovation and leadership. The goal is to imbibe the lessons that teaches you all the aspects to be a leader.

    • Flexibility to work on social causes

Amidst all the hustle-bustle of attending lectures, submitting assignments, preparing for presentations and everything in-between, your to-be college should also provide you with a dedicated amount of time to spend on social causes. A good leader is an excellent human being and the focus doesn’t stagnate at work, but proceeds ahead too. A few universities in India have partnered with several organizations and several teams of students are spending a considerable amount of time every week by contributing plans for income generation, like coming up with innovative fund raising ideas and implementing these as their market study to propel these organizations to success.

    • Internships

The institution should have internships as part of their curriculum. Internships play a crucial role in the learning process of the students by making it holistic like real-life situations. The projects assigned to students during this phase should be in-line with business objectives and he should grow with these necessary insights. An internship phase should mold the student with a fresh perspective of the world of leadership.

    • Placement

The reputation of a B-school plays a vital role during recruitment. Great colleges have top-notch companies lined up at their doorsteps to recruit the fresh batch of students because it has the reputation of training leaders. Whereas, a mediocre institute won’t have any campus placements and the student won’t be paid much heed even while applying for a job externally. So even if you’re pursuing a one year MBA in India make sure you do that from a reputed business school as it will matter in the long run.

    • Fee

Yes, reputed B-schools are a tad bit expensive, but not all. Compare the fee structure of all the colleges before applying for one, there are B-schools that are reputed and are not expensive at all. Make your choice carefully.

These are the 5 primary qualities to look for in a business school.
