A month at Coke…

Internship program by School of Inspired Leadership,an executive B-school for MBA in Delhi, has helped us a lot in understanding the corporate world in a much deeper sense. This college will also make sure there is value add in every learning given to us. The School of Inspired Leadership focuses widely on building competent leaders rather than just managers. SOIL’s five value “pillars” make it special and students get a deeper insight about the ethics, sustainability, compassion, diversity and mindfulness. Even at my internship these values played a vital role. Today a good value system has become the most integral part of any organization. The overall mission of the company is to refresh the world, to inspire moments of optimization and to create value which makes a difference. In business scenario, there exists no or very little community. With the increase in globalization and removal of communication barriers by use of technology, people have started interacting globally. E-Commerce is one such medium to have a global interaction. Students at SOIL get a chance to work in these global companies and best performers are rewarded with pre-placement offers as well. It helps us to work closely in the industry by providing a valuable experience to work, better understanding of the work culture and higher impactful learning.

The previous one month of learning has enriched me with more passion towards our career goals. I was an intern at Coca-Cola, working in the E-Commerce division on coke2home.com. Coke2home is the online retail store for selling HCCB beverages. The project focused on a lot of aspects. The main aim of the project was to reduce the entire supply chain to much more profitable levels.

To construct a model on Coke2Home and implement it with help of IT company. This model will ensure delivery of coke to doorstep in hours. The model will reduce the delivery time from One day delivery to few hours’ delivery. The home delivery will be done in the locality. This will help the in exclusive partnership with Coca-Cola on unique direct to consumer project, additional business, revenue & profits. It will also help them in increased retailer equity & goodwill in the neighborhood with increased customer loyalty.

On the whole it was an amazing experience at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages. The coke2home.com, an e-commerce venture is designed in a way to help consumers to not move around shops just to buy beverages. The experience led to a lot of e-commerce understanding, also implementing the model was the need of the hour. Coke2home.com has reduced not only shipping time but also has reduced the hassle for people to carry bulk beverages to home with increased goodwill of coca-cola. Every student during internships will be introduced to emerging learning techniques and will get an exposure to start of the art concepts in areas of Business Excellence, Leadership Development and Skill Building. The B-school focuses majorly on how much exposure of the industry could be given to students which would benefit them for the rest of their lives.
