Morning circle is an essential part of the SOIL curriculum in which we try to touch upon every aspect of professional and personal life, so that all SOIL students get themselves ready for the day and feel confident to achieve their full potential.

The Power of the Morning Circle

    Importance of Prayer

The morning circle starts with prayer, where all students chant god’s name. We celebrate all religions and denominations so prayers are selected from all religions.

It’s the first step to imbibe positive energy into our day-to-day life. When our day starts with positive energy or spirituality it gives us peace of mind, and a connection to the almighty. Students get the opportunity to learn about our cultures and varied prayers which create interest as to how positive energy can transform our lives. It also changes the way how we see ourselves as individuals and it makes us more confident in the long run.

    Power of Business News

In the morning circle, we are encouraged to share news around businesses, industry trends and markets, as well as important political news. This is highly important for MBA students. It’s been great to know more about the business world in the morning feed as I feel my brain retains more high-quality content and makes us more aware. We can better understand what is going on in Indian and International markets, how it affects our economy and what would be the future opportunities.

Being an MBA student, it is great that while attending the daily morning circle we get important and relevant information which makes us ready for placement. This is especially true as more recruiters would prefer students who are more aware of business, what are the current trends and how it will shape the business future.

Power of The Thought of the Day

A thought for the day is a daily quote that gives us a positive opinion to start our day with encouragement and inspiration. Key thoughts are important for everyone and they also play a major role in our lives.

Developing positive thinking patterns provides our minds with the “correct” fuel. Our minds are revitalized with positive ideas thanks to a daily thought. To make each day go successfully, we require a regular infusion of fresh perspectives, knowledge, and experience (from those who are wiser than we are!). Having optimistic ideas lays the foundation for moving forward in a positive manner.

We can all agree that our thoughts are important and we should be mindful of them. They’re what make us human and can have a positive or negative effect on how we feel and how we tackle our days. When we reflect and meditate on all that’s good – creativity begins to flow naturally too.

    The Importance of Birthday Celebrations

Some days the morning circle is extra special for the person who has their birthday on that day. Everyone celebrates the birthday of that student. Faculty bless the student and fellow students also share some good memories of that student which makes his/her birthday more special and enriching. Last week it was my birthday, everyone wished me and some faculty members also shared some fun anecdotes. It was an amazing experience. I have never experience anything in my life. This is definitely a great initiative which makes our SOIL journey much more enriching and also gives us a lifetime of happy memories.

    The Value of a Quiz

Morning circle helps us all to learn something new every day. Which is why we often organize fun quizzes with questions on general knowledge, business knowledge and more, which helps us to learn something relevant and something new. With the help of such quizzes, we are able to gather a lot of important information, which makes our learning much more enriching.

The Veneration of The National Anthem

One of the most important parts of our morning circle is the chanting the National Anthem. We do this every day at the end of circle. While singing the National Anthem, we feel pride in our nation, pride in our institute and pride in each other. This also encourages a deeper feeling of patriotism in all of us.

    Conclusion

The practice of the Morning Circle is an integral part of the SOIL curriculum and it helps us develop skills such as the ability and confidence to speak in front of a large audience, time management, creativity, thinking on our feet and innovative planning. These are lifelong skills that we will always carry with us, whether enabling us being placement ready or whether succeeding in our goals. Thank you SOIL for introducing us to this concept and enabling our personal and professional growth.
